Be Wowed By a Broadway Musical

It wouldn’t be a trip to New York City without experiencing, firsthand, a Broadway Musical. The list of choices seem endless with over 40 professional theaters to choose from between Manhattan’s Theater District and the Lincoln Center. However, if you know you will only be in the Big Apple a few days, it may be wise to secure your tickets beforehand, especially for cherished seats in the center section no further back than the 12th row. That worked for us at the Disney favorite, “The Lion King”. Not only were the costume transformations super-incredible, but the non-stop action all around us was captivating. Friends, this show is for all ages-from the young in years to the young in heart. After all, the main storyline follows the “Circle of Life”. Is it any wonder this Broadway musical production has been an award-winning best musical? But don’t take my word for it. See for yourself. The Disney classic comes to life before your eyes with Simba, Nala, Scar, and the unforgettable Zazu.

  1. My musical I saw on Broadway was Wicked at age of 12 and I was with mom. My favorite song was “Popular”. While I don’t have vivid memories, the impact clearly shows through all the years. Wicked sparked my love for musicals and I began to understand musical emotions and complexity because of Wicked

      • It is spectacular. Elphaba, Glinda, and Fiyero, they are the characters I am connected to the most. The friendship found between Elphaba and Glinda is so special and the love triangle makes me love the musical even more. Wicked sparked my love for musicals and it was how I began to understand the emotional side of musicals

      • I first saw the musical when I was 12 in 2006, then a 2nd time in high school, then in 2013 with my dad, and my fourth time was January of last year with my school. Each time I have felt more and more vulnerable.

Plus, I have continued my musical journey over the years. New musicals have entered and now I look at musicals fresh in a new way thanks to new gained knowledge I have through the impact Les MIs has had on my life.

  2. I was in New York earlier this year (for the first time!) and I saw Aladdin. It was amazing! I didn’t get to see The Lion King though. I wish I could have spent a few more days (and a few hundred more dollars) in New York to go see more shows!
