“That we find a crystal
or a poppy beautiful
means that we are less alone,
that we are more deeply inserted
into existence than
the course of a single life
would lead us to believe.”
~ John Berger

“When a train
goes through a tunnel
and it gets dark,
you don’t throw away
the ticket and jump off.
You sit still and
trust the engineer.”
~ Corrie Ten Boom
“Hope is like a road
in the country;
there was never a road,
but when many people
walk on it,
the road comes into existence.”
~ Lin Yutang
“I always sort of swooned
at the sight of
the classic barn structures
in central and northern Minnesota,
where everything seemed rustic
and weathered
and made to age gracefully.”
~ Richard Dean Anderson
Life is filled with unexpected blessings. My husband and I took a leisurely day trip wandering country roads in search of sweet bakery treats freshly served al fresco. We picnicked on apple fritters, cinnamon rolls, and creme-filled puffs of dough washed down with a thirst-quenching icy apple cider slushy. Moments later, the owner of the orchard invited us to take a sneak peak at the outdoor preparations for a wedding happening around the pond later that afternoon. We were swept away on his four-wheel golf cart to capture romance in progress. Blessings!
“Life is a series of steps.
Things are done gradually.
Once in awhile there is a giant step,
but most of the time we are taking small,
seemingly insignificant steps
on the stairway of life.”
~ Ralph Ransom
“It’s best to have failure happen early in life. It wakes up the Phoenix bird in you so you rise from the ashes.”
