Celebrate Your Accomplishments

Snapshotsincursive began shortly after the death of my father. It was a way for me to express my love of cooking as well as my desire to put thoughts into words. The blog allowed me to share my interests in writing, travel, photography, and spirituality. Maintaining the blog involves commitment whether the posts are done on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Everyone has accomplishments, however not everyone feels comfortable talking about them. You should. God has given us gifts to extol. Perhaps that is why WordPress* offers encouraging milestones along the way. My heart is humbled to acknowledge the success of doing something I truly enjoy. You should, too. Thank you to each and every one who has been my friend along the way. Ben Franklin said it best, β€œHide not your talents, they for use were made. What’s a sundial in the shade?”

What a Wonderful Year

Instagram knows how to make a blogger feel good. They took a look at all the photos that I posted @gail_dorna (Snapshotsincursive) for 2018 and listed the Top Nine most popular. We saw Lemon Elderflower Cake in celebration of the royal wedding, organic Mustard Glazed Rainbow Carrots as a healthy side dish, and scrumptious Banana Bread for a wholesome breakfast. The Pretzel Crust Pecan Pie drew rave reviews in addition to a colorful Chop Chop Salad that made a nice weeknight meal. Maybe you remember them all, especially if you follow me on Instagram as well as Facebook and WordPress. Without the support of endearing friendships and loyal family members, this journey of the palate would not be possible. Many blessings to everyone and thankfulness for all the encouragement. See you on the other side in 2019!

What’s Cooking in Gail’s Kitchen? Sunshine Eats!

This time of year is especially glorious when local Farmers Markets celebrate their bounty. Cooking becomes more exciting with farm-to-table ingredients, in my opinion. Tag along as we get outside, soak up the sunshine, and fill the tote bags with garden herbs, ripe fruit, rich chocolate, and French butter. Think about outdoor grilling and lazy-day picnics in the park. I’ll give you recipes to celebrate life with good food! Some of my recent posts have been favored by the “Food Network” on Twitter (Snapshotsincursive@DornaGail) as well as Ina Garten, The Barefoot Contessa, on Instagram @gail_dorna. Come along for a glimpse of “Eating My Way Through the Alphabet: Sunshine Eats! This remarkable journey of the palate allows time with you. Thanks very much to all of my guests and followers on http://snapshotsincursive.com for the uplifting support, award nominations, and moving words of encouragement. What’s Cooking in Gail’s Kitchen? It’s as simple as A-B-C. I love to cook, and my husband loves that I do it often. Most recipes serve 2-4 people, but can be easily modified. Leftovers are golden morsels to be eaten later or shared with others. Seeing a smile of gratitude keeps me going. Feel free to contact me with questions. Now take a deep breath, inhale the aromas, and join me on a tasteful journey entitled, “EATING MY WAY THROUGH THE ALPHABET: SUNSHINE EATS!”

A Celebration of 200 Posts!

Thank you to WordPress and my legion of Followers for this avenue of encouraging words. The applause is rewarding. Mile markers are therapeutic as well as uplifting along the way. I have currently crossed the threshold of 200 posts, which is no small feat. πŸ“ As many of you are aware, the discipline and commitment dedicated to the blogosphere can sometimes seem like a full-time job. But receiving a “Like”, “Comment”, “Award Nomination”, or “Challenge Invitation” make it all worthwhile. Building each other up in words of genuine praise show concern and amity. It is a privilege to forge ahead on this journey where there are countless role models inspiring me every day. I accept the challenge to keep going with daily posts. Thanks, again, for befriending me. Blessings! πŸ“

The First 100 Days of Blogging

“You should write,” was the encouragement I received only a short time ago.  My husband reassured me, my friends gave me a push, and my family nudged me in the direction of expression through a blog.  Since the death of my father, I sought comfort and solace in journaling while traveling with my husband, Gerald.  I began to discover “interesting stories in everyday moments”. I found it therapeutic to shift the focus from my deep sorrow to other people around me.  It seemed everyone had a story to tell.  It was there I discovered a deeper understanding of Life.  Thus, http://snapshotsincursive.com

was born.

My passion for cooking gave birth to the idea of “Eating My Way Through the Alphabet” along with the joy of presentation for visual appeal.  So naturally, taking snapshots of food created a harmonious balance of artistic expression. I am overwhelmed by the positive response and feedback it has generated! THANKS VERY MUCH! Today I look back in gratitude for the optimism, faith, assurance, and vote of confidence I have received from the WordPress community all over the globe. The awards are amazing!!! Without exception, the definitive link bonds us together regardless of geographic locations and time zones.  Each blogger praises the other as they “Pay It Forward” with award nominations.  For me the thrill and excitement of being acknowledged in four different ways is a laurel of intellectual nourishment.  The first 100 days went fast! In continuation, I look I forward to the engaging companionship on this journey we all share together.  And the new friendships beyond.
