When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom’d
by Walt Whitman
“When lilacs last in the dooryard bloom’d,
And the great star early droop’d in the western sky in the night,
I mourn’d, and yet shall mourn with ever-returning spring.
Ever-returning spring, trinity sure to me you bring,
Lilac blooming perennial and drooping star in the west,
And thought of him I love.”
Such a beautiful colour!
With shades of pink, blue and purple against the lush green! ❤

I seem to be drawn to purple in Nature. There’s something about the green showcasing it. In terms of gems, I think: amethyst and peridot. Thank you for noticing.

Beautiful blooms! I am fond of hydrangeas and the lilacs look somewhat similar.

I love lilacs, my favourite flowers! They smell so amazing and the combination of the purple ones and the white ones is beautiful. 🙂
