Missing my father who was the first person to believe that my dreams could come true. He taught me how to have faith in God and to believe in the power of His love. Dad encouraged me to follow my heart, showed me how to be kind to others, and inspired me to never lose hope. I love you, Dad, and celebrate the anniversary of your first year in Heaven.

When my father passed away, it was strange to think that the world could go on without him. Deep inside, I couldn’t believe it. Then, after his funeral, I saw my brother out of the corner of my eye, and I thought he was really my father. I guess my father, as all our fathers, lives on through us, his children, and the measure of his and our good deeds.

Such a beautiful tribute to your Dad, Gail. I can relate to so much of what you have written — my Dad went to be with the Lord almost five years ago (after a courageous battle with cancer), and I think about him each and every day! Like your Dad, he was such a wonderful father, and we were always extremely close. Sending big hugs.

Bless you, Anna. I was a very lucky girl to have him as my father. Life is so short. I’m thankful I have cards, letters, and photos in addition to the memories.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean, Gail! I love to look at family photos and read my Dad’s letters, too. He had an incredible sense of humor, and I still laugh out loud when reading some of his letters. I look forward to the day we will all be reunited and with our Savior forever! Blessing to you, sweet Gail!

R.i.p my beautiful role model, loving parents. Father’s 43rd anniversary was in January & mum’s 4th will be in August. Imagine being 40 years a widow.

How tragic to lose the love of your life…..and then living half a lifetime without him. God’s Peace. 💕

Yes, although I had go get on with life caring for others 3 days after the funeral (student nurse) I suppose in a strange way by giving to others it helped ease my pain. Mum’s mum died when mum was 8 and she really spent a lifetime living without her. I really couldn’t comprehend what that must have been like. I hadn’t really thought of my own loss in such a way. 💖👼
