Wow! I love places like this. So much history, character, and talent. I drive about 40 minutes to an old country mill, built in 1849, that still produces cornmeal so I can buy five-pound bags to use in my recipes. http://www.bearsmill.org

I see that Bears Mill has a turbine of the same manufacture as the turbine at Pattersons Spade Mill. Thanks for the link, I love these places too! I would live at the Spade Mill if they’d let me, and if I didn’t have problems with my back I’d volunteer in the forge! 🔨🔨🔨

This is a really appealing post. I love old tools. I also think that everyone’s work has value and should be seen that way.
